White Beach and the Appeal of Station 1
Boracay’s appeal begins with White Beach, an approximately four-kilometre stretch of powdery white sand that feels remarkably soft underfoot. The shoreline slopes gently into clear, turquoise water, creating an inviting setting for swimming, walking or simply finding a comfortable spot to enjoy the view. It is easy to understand why White Beach has earned international recognition, including the distinction of being named the world’s number-one beach in Condé Nast Traveller’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards.
White Beach is divided into three stations, each with its own character. Station 1 occupies the northern end and is generally the quieter, more spacious section, with some of the island’s finest luxury beachfront resorts. Station 2 is the lively centre of activity, close to D’Mall, restaurants, shops and much of the island’s nightlife. Station 3, farther south, tends to have a more relaxed atmosphere, with smaller resorts and a less developed feel. We particularly enjoyed Station 1, where the wider beach and more tranquil surroundings made it easier to appreciate the setting without being in the middle of the busiest areas.
There is plenty to do beyond enjoying the beach. Swimming, snorkelling, paddleboarding, kayaking and island-hopping are popular choices, while sailing in a traditional paraw outrigger boat is a memorable way to experience the coastline. We would also recommend making time for a sunset sail. The changing colours across the water are a beautiful part of the Boracay experience.
We stayed at The Lind Boracay, right on the beachfront in Station 1. It is recognized as one of the island’s premier luxury resorts and holds the distinction of being the first hotel on Boracay to be listed in the prestigious MICHELIN Guide. Its location was a major attraction for us, offering direct access to the sand and a more peaceful setting while remaining within reach of the island’s restaurants and activities.
Getting to the resort was also handled very well. After the boat crossing to Boracay, The Lind’s arranged ground transportation made the onward journey to the hotel straightforward and comfortable. Having the transfer coordinated took much of the uncertainty out of arriving on an island where visitors must combine boat and road transportation. It was a welcome introduction to the level of service we experienced during our stay.
For us, Boracay offered more than a beautiful beach. Choosing Station 1 and staying at The Lind made it possible to enjoy the island’s celebrated scenery at a comfortable pace, with the quality of accommodation and service adding considerably to the experience.
