Whether it is the rich heritage of the rural people, or the bounty of the harvest, there are many reasons to join in and celebrate at the Cranberry Festival.
The Fort Langley Cranberry Festival has become a Thanksgiving weekend tradition for us as well and thousands of other families all over the Fraser Valley. This year marked the 20th annual Cranberry Festival in the heart of the beautiful and historic Fort Langley.
There were numerous activities for all from every walk of life, from the unique vendors, to the free entertainment, not to mention the pancake breakfast, and many other activities that were abundant, for what is always a great day in this truly pretty part of the valley.
The last few years we have had some great weather, and this year was no exception. It’s estimated that approximately 60,000 people from all over the region made the journey to the festival.
For us, it was an opportunity to pick up some of these fresh delicious little red berries for our Thanksgiving feast, browse the over 100 vendors, and take advantage of the numerous food trucks and loads of activities.
And delicious treats.
The wonderful creative artisans.
The sensational cheeses from The Farm House Natural Cheeses.
And honey from the BC Buzz Honey Corporation.
This year there were 10,000 pounds of cranberries for sale, which goes to fund the annual festival.
We’ve already marked the Cranberry Festival in the calendar for next year. If you’re able to, so should you.
