Split lies on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast. It is best known for its beaches and the fortress like complex at its centre, the Roman emperor erected the Diocletian’s palace, which includes more than 200 buildings, in the 4th century and is today the true symbol of Split. This unique centre of Split, is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage.
Split is also the gateway to many of the Dalmatian jewels such as Hvar, Brac and Vis.
